POLL-E: Pollination Robot

For Waterloo Engineering capstone design projects, I was tasked with designing a system that solves a relevant world issue. Within a small team, we decided to build a robot capable of pollinating crops that are historically dependent on insect pollination. The final prototype used a gantry system and object recognition software to locate flowers on a citrus plant and transfer pollen between them using a small paintbrush. I was most involved with the mechanical design, focusing specifically on the chassis assembly and gantry system, as well as the protective cases for the circuit board and other important electrical components.
